Bali has a lot of restaurants to offer and we did try a lot of them during our trip there. However, one place impressed us the most, which is the relatively new Aperitif – located in luxurious resort, Viceroy Bali. The restaurant is headed by executive chef, Nic Vanderbeeken who has more than 20 years of experience from renowned michelin restaurants around the world. The restaurant itself is incredibly beautiful with a 1920s theme. Before starting with the meal itself, you can enjoy a drink in the restaurant´s classy bar, which has a balcony overseeing the jungle and the resort.
Creativity is the key at Aperitif and Chef Nic´s Degustation Menu is a mixed cocktail of creativity. Wagyu beef to Iberico pork to Papua crab – you will be in for a culinary adventure! This place is highly recommendable and a must-visit if you´re ever in Ubud. The price may be on the higher compared to the average Bali prices, but you get a lot value for the money (8 Course menu for €99). In Europe, it would be hard to get an experience like that for less than €200.
